IEB @ Starry Plough, Friday July 7th (Album Release!)

IEB @ Starry Plough, Friday July 7th

w/ Junior Reggae, Cabbagehead

It’s been a long time coming, and I’m pleased to announce that we have finally finished the latest full length Inner Ear Brigade Album  – Dromology. This will be released soon digitally and on the alt rock label form Milan Italy. While the physical CDs will most likely not be at this show in time (who wants CDs anyhow?) we will have posters and download codes for our album.

We have created a fine show to celebrate this release.

What: Inner Ear Brigade Album release, w/ Cabbagehead and Junior Reggae

When: Friday, July 7th, from around 9 pm to midnight

Where: Starry Plough Pub, 3101 Shattuck Ave, Berkeley, CA 94705

How much: ~$10 cover

The set order will be Cabbagehead opening, Inner Ear Brigade in the middle, then Junior Reggae closing the night. Cabbagehead and Junior Reggae are not to be missed.

Cabbagehead plays an angular jazz / progressive rock original music, hard to describe. They cover things as wide as Frank Zappa to Hank Mobley, but play mostly original music fronted by two saxophones.

Junior Reggae is led by Jazz polymath (trombonist, bassist, and drummer) Rob Ewing. They play live dub music but with intelligent jazz heads and odd twists of harmony. I had the pleasure of seeing them last month and immediately was blown away by their live sound. Groove reggae dub jazz. Steve Blum on Keys and Jason Levis on drums, with others on horns.

Hope to see you there!!!!

Fang Chia
Fang Chia is an experimental rock band from Tacoma, WA and the culmination of four friends playing music together for ten years. The band’s musical influences are broad, ranging from Flying Lotus to Philip Glass to God Speed You! Black Emperor. Unsatisfied with being musically static, their motto is “Constantly Expanding in All Directions.”

Goddess Aphonic

Dark damaged psychedelia that is not so much flying into the sun as it is drowning in the concrete. Direct and sharp compositions that are heavily influenced by modern noise, no wave and free jazz.
