3/23 @ Kilowatt
Low Plateau
Inner Ear Brigade
Screen Frogs (Seattle)
8PM
$10
There is a special show happening at Kilowatt in San Francisco this Sunday March 23rd. IEB is psyched to share the bill Low Plateau and Screen Frogs. Low Plateau is lead by Eli Eckert of Once & Future Band. Once and Future band needs no introduction, but Eli’s group seems to harness some of the best aspects of vintage prog with a 70’s aesthetic for song writing. We were lucky to hook up with touring psyche rock group SCREEN FROGS from Seattle, they remind me very much of King Gizzard and Lizard Wizard.
LOW PLATEAU
LOW PLATEAU from Oakland, Ca is Eli Eckert (Once & Future Band, Drunk Horse) on guitar and vocals, Aaron Calvert (Winfred E. Eye) on bass and harmony vocals, Chris LaBreche (Sweet Chariot, Parchman Farm) on drums and Utrillo Kushner (Comets on Fire, Colossal Yes) on keyboards.

SCREEN FROGS
Throughout SWASH, Screen Frogs confidently re-replicate King Gizzard’s progressive psych rock of yore better than most bands, local or otherwise. It’s also not just simulacra; as the record progresses, you might sense a heavier emphasis on tunefulness over sheer energy. I hear it particularly on highlight “Fly on the Wall,” with its monster chords and grin-inducing, amplified jazz flute breakdown.
